Laurabeard’s Favorite Fall Activity
This is my report on my favorite fall activity this year. Last weekend we organized a trip out to the country because Sparky’s Uncle Arte was going to have a bonfire. Arte helps out at his friend’s farm and he asked us to come along and help clean up. We all put on some old clothes and when we got there we helped Arte collect all the loose leaves, and gather twigs and branches lying around in the fields. We made a circle of rocks in an open space and then threw all the yard waste into the middle. Arte told us all to stand back and then he lit the fire. It was so big!!! We had collected so many dried leaves and twigs that it just started crackling right away and next thing the flames were leaping up to the sky. We kept on working, collecting more and more twigs and leaves and throwing them on, and then when we had picked up most of the yard waste, Arte brought out some hot dogs for us to roast over the fire. Mmm! I’ve never had hot dogs cooked over a fire … Read more

Persephone’s Pink Living Room
By Persephone Poodle Well, readers, by now you’ve probably figured out what my favorite color is. If you haven’t yet, I’ll give you a clue – it’s PINK! I’ve got some rooms in my house that are pink all over, like my kitchen and my dining room, and others with just a hint of pink, like my bathroom. When I designed my living room, I wanted to create a relaxing, casual oasis where I can hang out with my friends in front of the TV, get a bit of work done, or just chill with a good book. With that in mind, I put together this mellow space. I think there is just the right balance of pinks to neutrals to let me enjoy my favorite color without going overboard. I started with a coat of calming Light Sea Green Wall Paint and created a feature by completely covering one wall with floor to ceiling Dance Studio Long Mirrors. The main source of pink in this room is my fabulous Flower Power Modular sofa. I think its sleek, modern lines and funky pattern are just fab! I paired it up with the … Read more

Persephone’s Pink Kitchen
Hey, Webkinz fans! Guess what? Persephone was so happy with the bedroom and bathroom that we designed for her she asked Elwin and me to design her kitchen too. She was at a loss – she had a really big space, and she wanted to multitask. She needed plenty of space for food prep and cooking, as well as a dining area with enough space to entertain a large group of friends. She also wanted a work space and with all that in mind, Elwin and I thought it would be really nice to give her an area where she could relax too. Persephone’s one stipulation was that the kitchen be bright and fun. She spends so much time there it needs to be uplifting and cheery. Well, cheery was what Persephone wanted and cheery is what she got. We saw the Ice Cream Parlor Wallpaper and we knew right away that it captured the look we were trying to achieve. By pairing it with the Lily Pad Flooring, we gave ourselves a great accent color with the vibrant green. We picked up that green in the Fresh Glass Dining Table and Sweet Releaf Chairs, as well … Read more
