Salley’s Winter Blues
Hey everyone,Today is SUCH a bad day. A horrible day, even. Today, my BFF (Stoogles) and I had a HUGE fight. A gigantic fight. Maybe the biggest fight in the history of Kinzville. What did we fight about, you ask? Christmas. Or, rather, where I’ll be spending Christmas. This year, my dad asked if I could come and visit him in West Kinzville. I usually see my dad one weekend a month (he travels a lot for his job), but he’ll be around for Christmas this year and I haven’t had Christmas with him for a really long time. My mom is going to go and stay at my grandma’s house, so she said it was fine if I wanted to go to my dad’s. I decided that it would be pretty fun to see him, and to see the rest of that side of my family. I told Stoogles the exciting news and he was SO mad. Not even regular mad. SUPER mad. When I asked why, he said that I was wrecking his Christmas! Can you believe that? I’m leaving on December 20, and apparently that’s before everyone in the ‘Kinz … Read more
Roberta’s Homemade Holidays: Bookmark
I thought of a really neat idea for my grandpa today – a homemade bookmark! My poppa loves to read, so this is perfect for him. Want to make one for the bookworm on your list?  What you need:  Cardstock in two colors, embroidery thread in two colors, one-hole punch, ruler, scissors, craft glue  What you do: Cut out a rectangle that’s 8 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. Cut out another rectangle that’s 9 inches long and 2 inches wide. Mount the smaller rectangle on the larger one. When the glue is dry, punch a hole at the top of the rectangle. Take your embroidery thread and cut six pieces; three of each color. Each piece should be four inches long. Put your embroidery threads through the hole and tie a knot at the bottom of the threads. Decorate your bookmark to suit the recipient of the gift. Â

Chef Gazpacho’s Easy Homemade Chocolate Fluffles
Here’s a recipe for one of the delicious dishes that I will be making for Fluffington’s guests on Christmas day. These simple truffles – or as I like to call them ‘Fluffles’ – are much easier to make than the real thing, but just as delicious! What you need: -         1 cup chocolate chips -         4 tablespoons butter -         4 tablespoons icing sugar -         1/2 cup plain cake crumbs -         Garnishes: chopped nuts, grated coconut, icing sugar, cocoa powder, chocolate vermicelli -         An adult assistant to help you with this recipe What you do: Have your adult assistant melt butter and chocolate chips slowly over a double boiler. Mix well and transfer to a bowl. Using a sieve, sift icing sugar into bowl. Add cake crumbs and mix well. While you allow your mixture to cool, spread your garnishes out on separate plates. When the chocolate mix has cooled, roll it into small balls about a teaspoonful. Trying not to handle them too much (they will start to melt!) roll each ball in one of the garnishes. I just know Fluffington and his guests are … Read more
The Making of the Reindeer Pet of the Month Video
Hi there! I’m the Reindeer, December’s Pet of the Month. When I was approached about storyboarding my Pet of the Month video, I knew I wanted to make a song all about my favorite season. I’ll bet you can probably guess which season that is. At first I wasn’t sure what to do my video on. But then I went and asked my mom what she thought. I get so wrapped up in winter that she actually suggested that I should make a video about how when I comes to winter I can’t think of anything else, even school. At first I asked her what she was talking about, and then she pointed out that every time I get a pencil and eraser, I have to turn them into a hockey stick and puck. I realized that she was right so I went and asked Ms. Cowoline if we could actually film my video in the school. I thought it would be pretty funny to have me dreaming about winter instead of getting my work done. Ms. Cowoline … Read more

Can’t Wait Until Christmas!
Hey everyone, Sparky here. Want to know something? I’m SO sick and tired of being at school! Seriously! I cannot wait until it’s finally time to go on vacation. It feels like summer was a million years ago, and Thanksgiving was half a million years ago. I just want to sleep in, play outside, and hang out with my friends. I’m so tired of tests and reports and everything like that. Christmas is such a great time of year for me – my parents and I visit my grandparents on Christmas day, I help Uncle Arte in the Curio Shop, and the ‘Kinz celebrate Christmas with an awesome party. But I’m here, stuck in geography class, just staring at the clock and WISHING it was time to go home. I don’t know how I’m going to last.Â
