Wiggles’ New Apartment
Elwin: Since Plumpy is going to be getting married, her best friend Wiggles is moving into a place of his own – his very own bachelor apartment! He asked us to make him a room that’s not only open and airy, but also chic and cool. Hailey and I put our heads together and this is what we came up with. Hailey: I actually love this room! From the bare brick walls to the stainless steel appliances, it’s incredibly cool. Elwin: I agree. My favorite pieces have to be the card dividers. Wiggles is an ace poker player, so he quite liked them. Hailey: That TV is something else…I hope Wiggles invites us over for a movie night. Elwin: And the jukebox? And hand-carved statue? How awesome are those? Hailey: Very awesome. Just goes to show: you don’t need to use a theme to make a room look put together! Elwin: So true. Having a lot of Rare items doesn’t hurt, though, does it? Hailey: Definitely not.
Ancient Civilization Theme
There’s something to be said for simplicity, and that’s probably why I like the Ancient Civilization theme so much! It works with such a basic palette, but looks so striking. See what I mean? The flooring and walls are a lovely muted gray/grayish blue color. This works perfectly with the rich wooden tables and chest, and the deep purple upholstery. The bright red shields on the wall are the ideal accent in this lovely, understated room. Now, I have to say that Elwin and I don’t exactly agree on how wonderful this theme is. I LOVE it. His comment? “It needs more color.” Some designers just don’t appreciate subtlety. What do you think of this theme, friends?
Whimsical Wonderland Theme
Elwin here with a Rare theme I hope you’ll love as much as I do: the Whimsical Wonderland theme! As you all know, I tend to like decorating with…let’s say, wilder colors and elements. When the Whimsical Wonderland theme came out, I couldn’t believe my eyes – this was exactly what I had been waiting for! A theme so wacky, so wild – it was perfect! Anyway, I created a room a while back for a client of mine. I really liked it, so I kept a picture for my portfolio. I love every part of this room – from the heart wallpaper to the indoor garden. How many pets can say that they’ve got an INDOOR garden? The vibrant colors are just fabulous, and I have a soft spot in my heart for the bubble-blowing caterpillar. What piece of this theme do you like best, my friends?
Roberta’s New Craft Room
So I guess this whole baby thing is turning out pretty well. Our new house is pretty cool, but the best thing about it? I get a whole room JUST for making crafts!!! How awesome is that? There is this room in the basement that used to be the laundry room before they moved the laundry room upstairs. So it’s even got a couple of sinks which is perfect. And you know what else? Because my mom and dad hired Hailey and Elwin to decorate our new house, they are going help me decorate my craft room too! How many kids get to have professional designers come and design their craft room? I am so pumped! Especially with all the cool pieces from the Creative Studio Theme that are in the W Shop! Medieval Room Theme
Elwin here with another awesome Rare room theme to share! It’s one of my all-time favorites: the Medieval theme! I created this room for a client who happened to love all things medieval. This was in his basement, and he wanted it to feel like a special castle hideaway. I LOVE the long dining table (perfect for hosting royal gatherings), the knights standing on guard, the thrones (as you can see, my client’s wife enjoyed her throne immensely), and the sitting area. I also really like the bedroom, and how it’s set apart from the rest of the room by the gorgeous dividers (I got those at the eStore). The drapes, tapestries and windows are excellent accessories, and the stone walls and floor really makes this room look like it’s from back in medieval times! Robert Rabbit’s Workshop Makeover
Elwin here, with our second-to-last room makeover at the Rabbit house. Today, we redid Robert’s workshop. Robert loves woodworking and making all kinds of neat things (that’s probably where Molly gets her craftiness). The room had been used as a workshop before, but it wasn’t very well set up. A good workshop needs to have a place for everything, so it doesn’t look too cluttered. Robert was THRILLED to see this set up. He said that he’ll make us a rocking chair for our office. Nice!

Roberta’s Rec Room
The Rabbit family has a lovely, large basement. When we asked Roberta’s parents what they wanted to do with it, they said they only wanted three things down there: 1. A craft room for Roberta 2. A workshop for Robert (Roberta’s dad) 3. A playroom/recreation room for the new baby and Roberta Today, we started with the recreation/playroom. We knew that this room would allow us to be really whimsical and creative. After all, it’s for kids and it’s in the basement. Here’s what we came up with: As you can see, half of the room is for Roberta and her friends, and half is perfect for a little bunny. Pretty awesome, right? Roberta sure thought so! Polly’s Cake
Hey, it’s Molly and the plans for Polly’s surprise party are going really well! I don’t think she suspects a thing! The only problem is that we couldn’t decide what kind of cake to make. We all want something different. Alex said that girls like flowers so we should have a cake with flowers on it. Way to stereotype, Alex! Stoogles says that he is a traditionalist and that a plain old birthday cake with her name on it is all we need. You know how crafty Roberta can be? Well, she wants to design a cake with Polly’s face on it. Sounds complicated. And Nibbles and I both love cupcakes. Aren’t cupcakes always better than cake? So we thought the best thing to do would be to go off in pairs and come up with a cake design. Then we could choose our favorite design and make that one. Maybe you could help us choose.
