Reid, Meet Santakinz

Okay, so since my plan to have Reid’s photo taken with Santakinz didn’t go so well the first time, I had an idea. Every single day I have been reading Reid every Christmas book, showing him every Christmas card, and playing him every Christmas movie that has Santakinz in it so that he’ll get used to Santakinz and we can take this photo without him crying. So far, so good. He seems to enjoy all the Christmas stories and for some reason he’s not scared of a picture of Santakinz. I just hope that when I take him back to the Clubhouse, he can handle the real thing!

Secret Santakinz: Roberta Got…

Roberta here. I really love the surprises of Secret Santakinz gift exchanges so I was kind of bored by who I got. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I really like Alex Tiger (he’s super smart and nice) but what’s a bit boring is that I already know what to get him! A test tube set that you can make little experiments with. He told me just the other day that he was saving up for one. But even if it’s not too exciting, I’m glad I can get him something he really wants!

Roberta’s Heart-to-Heart

Hey everyone, So remember how I was feeling pretty miserable the other day because my nana and papa were spending all their time with Reid? Well, my grandmother realized there was something wrong…and she took me out for a hot chocolate and a donut. We talked about how hard it is to have a little brother around, and how sometimes he seems to get ALL the attention. She told me that she often felt a little jealous of her younger sister (my great-aunt). I was surprised to hear that, but nana said it’s just something that older siblings feel sometimes. She said it doesn’t mean I don’t love Reid, but just that occasionally I kind of wish I could get the sort of attention he does. She also said that she and papa were going to take me out to see a play, and have a special dinner at a restaurant, just the three of us. And when we got back to her house? Somehow it bothered me a lot less when everyone said how adorable it was when Reid spat carrot baby food across the kitchen. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Roberta’s Little Brother

Hey everyone. Roberta here in East Webkinz World, visiting my grandparents. Normally I LOVE seeing nana and papa…but this time? This time it’s alllll about my little brother Reid. Since we arrived, no one has talked about anything else. It’s just “Reid this” and “Reid that” and “Oh, isn’t it so cute how Reid makes faces? Look at him crawl! Reid is the BEST!”Reid is not the best at anything! He’s just a baby. He’s not even very exciting. And then there’s me, sitting alone in the corner, hoping someone will take notice and talk to me. So far? No one has. I guess I just can’t compare to the cuteness of my baby brother. And don’t get me wrong, I think Reid IS very sweet. But who is more interesting? A baby or a creative, brilliant young lady like myself?I think the choice is pretty clear. Someone just needs to tell my family that.

Roberta’s Bad Day

Dear Diary, I have never (NEVER) been angrier at Ms. Stripes than I am right now. She told us who was cast in which role for the Thanksgiving pageant. And guess what I am? The lead? Noooo! The supporting actress? Noooo! I don’t even have any LINES. Why is that? Because I’m a tree! A tree! Cowabelle, on the other hand, is the lead. She gets to dress up like a pilgrim and sing and dance and do all sorts of other things. Meanwhile, I get to get splinters from my costume. I cannot believe Ms. Stripes! She is so unfair. And you know what she said, when I went up to her after class and asked her why I was a tree? “Roberta, it’s important that you learn to share the spotlight. You can’t ALWAYS be the lead, you know.” And I said “But Cowabelle has been the lead a lot as well. Why does SHE get to do it again now?” And Mrs. Stripes just said something about Cowabelle suiting the part, and for the Christmas pageant maybe I could have a more prominent role. Know what? I’m not even going to be IN the Thanksgiving … Read more

Roberta’s Halloween Conundrum

Roberta here with a tough decision on my mind: what should Reid be for Halloween? There are so many options – and I’d like to make him the costume. I was thinking of maybe making him into a little wizard, but that’s not cute enough. Then I thought of maybe making him into a superhero, but it seems a bit old for him right now. Now I’m thinking that perhaps the cutest, sweetest costume would be a pumpkin! What do you think? How adorable would Reid be, dressed as a little pumpkin? I think that might just be the best idea ever! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Craft: Button magnets

Roberta here with a super-easy, super-cute craft: button magnets! My mom sews, so we always have LOTS of buttons around. She lets me do whatever I want with them, so I decided to make some really cute magnets. Here’s how I did it!   What you need: Buttons, strong craft glue OR cool-temperature hot glue gun, round magnets   What you do: 1.       Put a blob of glue on the back of your button. 2.       Put the magnet onto the button. 3.       When the glue is dry, put your button magnet on the fridge. 4.       Super easy and super cute!

Roberta and Booger’s Compromise

So Booger decided to completely redo my girls’ soccer page because I used my scrapbooking supplies with lots of flower stickers and stamps, and Booger wanted it to look like a science diagram for his Anatomy of an Academy theme. I looked at it and it really had a lot of information, but I thought it just looked boring. There was no color or personality to it. So I asked Booger if we could use his idea of adding scientific labels to the pages, but maybe add a little bit of pizzazz. Booger said that might be interesting – I think he was starting to realize that his idea was missing something. So we decided that we would use Booger’s layout of the ‘scientific’ labels but we are going to add some neat images, lettering and colors to liven it up. We tried working together on one page and came up with a really neat look that still fit within Booger’s theme. So we’re going to do that will all the pages. And you know what? I actually think that Booger’s idea is pretty neat. It makes the yearbook more interesting.

Roberta and Booger: At Odds

Oh, wow. I think Booger is turning into a control freak! He just came to me and said that I have to redo my yearbook page on the girls’ soccer team. That is so unfair! I did a really cool page! I brought in my own scrapbooking supplies from home and I used lots of ribbons and stickers and cute stamps. You should have seen how awesome it was. Then Booger looks at it and says that it doesn’t fit with his theme, ‘Anatomy of an Academy’. Well, I think that’s a stupid theme anyway so why should I have to do my pages in his silly format? I think flowers and bows are much prettier for the girls’ soccer team, right? I told him that I wasn’t going to do redo it and you know what he said? He said he would just have to do it himself then! I said I wasn’t going to let him touch my page and so I packed it into my binder and took it home. I know he can just print off the pictures again and do it himself anyway, but it was the principle. I worked hard on that page and … Read more
