Happy New Year! A new year calls for a new pet design contest! We would like you to design a new Webkinz Classic pet that will be sold by Ganz eStore starting on Webkinz Day – April 29, 2021!
Here’s how it works:
Between January 1 and 31, design a pet that you think would make a great addition to Webkinz World! It can be any kind of pet you like! You can use one of the templates provided below or you can create your own drawing. You can enter as many times as you like!
You can use any kind of art supplies that you want – markers, pencil crayons, crayons, or other art materials. While we will not accept images that have computer generated patterns or graphics copied and added to them, participants may use programs like Paint or Photoshop to color and draw freehand. We can’t accept submissions with company logos or sports team emblems. Please make sure you save your images as a jpg, gif, or png.
You don’t need to include a suggestion for the pet’s PSI and PSF but you can if you want!
Submit your drawing to the Pet Design 2021 Gallery in the Share Center by January 31, 2021.
Wait until February 7, 2021 to see if your design is one of the 10 finalists.
The winner will have their design turned into a real virtual pet in Webkinz World and they will receive a code for their pet when it is added to Webkinz World. They will also receive a 1 Month Deluxe Membership to Webkinz, a virtual Pet Design Trophy, and all ten finalists will each receive a 6 pack of 2021 Winterfest Cookies, courtesy of Ganz eStore.

I know it was stated that computer generated patterns weren’t allowed, but what if it was a pattern drawn by hand on Photoshop? Would that count or is it not allowed?
If you drew it, it’s fine, regardless of what method you use to draw it
Is it okay to use a tool like ‘Rotational Symmetry’? I presume that’s okay but I wanted to be sure
Does that involve using any patterns you haven’t created yourself? That’s really the litmus test here. Don’t use other people’s content and you’re fine.

I love Frilled neck lizards, and i would love to see my pet become a real pet on webkinz. I have never won a contest before, and i would love this to be my first.
This is one of my favorite contests! I am happy to say that after all of the love and support it got last year, my Baby Sloth will be hoping to enter Webkinz World this year! I have a few new and returning designs planned too. Good luck everyone!

Hi TobyAndMia, for the whole month of January hundreds of pet designs will be entered into the contest. The Webkinz staff will narrow it down to 10 finalists (announced on February 7), listen to what the players want, and announce the 1 winner soon after that. All of the 10 finalists will get prizes. You’re right! Something needs to be done. I, too, looked them up and it is so sad. Less than 20 of these small dolphins exist today – being wiped out by illegal fishing nets! Terrible to lose this beautiful creature!

I’m no artist – not even stick figures! But if anyone is looking for an idea, I have a suggestion. I have a coyote, Wiley, and a Grand Canyon room, and I need so badly, a Roadrunner!! The Roadrunner is our New Mexico State Bird, and they are much larger than you would think just from the famous cartoon. Their body is apx. 24″ plus a 12″ tail! Just a thought :-)

That seems so unfair! I know that they can’t do anything about the legal restrictions, but it’s pretty frustrating. I live in the U.S. and have zero artistic talent. I would love to see what all of our players across the globe can come up with for a pet design. I wish that there was some way to open it up to everyone.
Surely, there’s more places in the world besides the US and Canada where there are no such legal restrictions :P It’d be nice if they looked into it, so that more people could enter.
