SO HAPPY THAT THERE IS THIS CONTEST!! i had a blast designing my room. I hope I get featured! good luck to everyone! :) Maybe the next contest will be related to this one; like the outdoor part showing the ski hills and such. :)

I have looked for a chalet room theme to buy items for this, but I can’t find them anywhere, where do I buy items for the chalet them?

I still have not submitted my entry. I am having a meltdown on a very cold theme, LOL!!! I keep looking and looking for items I want to use and there’s so many that I am getting confused and hit an ice block, haha. I am trying very hard to submit one this weekend. I already have five different ski resort style designs in the making and don’t know which one to submit since it’s one per GW account. It is very FUN but great organizing skills of WW inventory are needed! Sally, Michael, and Mandy Webkinz, in designing rooms for this contest, I’ve found a great need for room windows that “look in” to a room (not out) from the outside in (say to a store or restaurant or shop) AND the W shop needs a re-vamp on kitchen cabinetry that are generic like wood cabinet bases with perhaps granite or some sort of stone material on top that would be able to be used for many different designs. The old pastel kitchen cabs (peach, purple, lime, etc.) are cute but do not go along well with many of the newer themed walls and floors. I hope you see my post and take into consideration for W Shop Kitchen! Thanks!!!

    • W5kinz says:

I agree with u! but if u want to have a better kitchen cabinet than the pastel ones, u need points to get the better looking ones. :( not everyone can afford points tho. there should be some that u described in the wshop that u can buy with kinzcash! :)

I need help! I have tried to shrink the pic of my room as much a I can and it still wontet me enter in. What am I doing wrong?

    • Sally Webkinz says:

Make sure the image width is no more than 1000 pixels. Also make sure that you’re saving it as a JPG or a GIF.

      • cat2f says:

How do I save it as a JPG or a GIF? I just took s picture on Webkinz and tried to enter it.

        • Sally Webkinz says:

If you’re running a Windows machine, you can open the picture in Paint, and then go to File and Save As — then just make sure you pick JPG or GIF as the file type :)

          • cat2f says:

I found out how to make it a JPG or a GIF but how do u resize?

          • W5kinz says:

for some reason, mine doesnt have a ‘save as a JPG or GIF’. would PNG work?

          • Sally Webkinz says:

Unfortunately, no. It does not recognize PNGs.

          • W5kinz says:

Ok i finally got it to work…i tried everything at first. I cropped it, shrunk it, made sure it was no larger than 1000 pixels, and saved it as a JPG. But it wouldnt work. I did all this in the ”documents’ by right clicking on the image and clicking edit. This didnt work. it finally worked when I used the snipping tool. Cropped it, and saved it as a JPG. thats it! so happy i could finally enter!! :)

          • cat2f says:

Ok so i have done everything you said and it still said I exceeded the size limit. I reduced it to 650 in width and still does not work. Any suggestions?

          • Sally Webkinz says:

If it gives you the option to change the resolution, you’ll want to save it as web-safe or no more than 75dpi. If it’s higher than that, it can still be too large a file. You can also try saving as a gif (if it’s jpg) or a jpg (if its a gif).

          • cat2f says:

I tried what you said and changed it to a gif because it was jpeg. Still said i exceeded size limit. :( Is there a way i could Email my entry?

          • Sally Webkinz says:

No, but if you try converting back to jpg again, it might help. Otherwise you’ll have to keep shrinking the width and height.

    • puppies4me says:

@cat2f I will be looking for your entry. It sounds like you’re certainly doing everything you can! I don’t know anything about computers or have clue about your conversation and abbreviations you and Sally use! LOL. So I wish you luck, and GOOD LUCK to everyone entering. This is such fun contest. Really nice wallpaper and prizes from Winterfest. I am looking forward to seeing your entries! >{^;^}<

  5. shelbyjean20 says:

can you decorate the room with anything that relates, or is their a room theme for this??

    • W5kinz says:

you can create your ski resort however you’d like! the theme is just ‘ski’! there is a wallpaper you can win from the webkinz January challenge. But I dont believe you have to use it. :)

  6. FuzzyPickles says:

Chalet is so cute I love it having fun trying to decorate it, Hope to get mine entered.

  7. Kraft says:

Just wondering, what does it mean in the terms by “some exceptions apply” to the fact that these contests are only open to residents of the US and Canada? I’m British and always miss out on these contests even when the prize is digital as opposed to a physical item. And if it is that I cannot enter, will British participants be able to take part in the future, or is it unlikely to change? Please respond, thank you :)

  8. 1212blue says:

I submitted my room, but I had to resize the picture a lot. I hope you guys can see it. :/

  9. Furbyamy says:

Could someone please help me? I keep getting a message saying the size exceeded the limit. How do you make it any smaller? I don’t know how to do that without cutting off half the room.

    • Sally Webkinz says:

You’ll need to use an application like Paint or something to resize it. There’s a resize button and you change the width to something closer to 800 pixels wide. That should reduce the file size enough without making the image too small.

  10. angelgirl315 says:

How do you know if your room design was submitted or not? After I uploaded my room design, checked the “terms” box and clicked submit, there was no message saying if it was submitted or not. It just disappeared.

    • Sally Webkinz says:

If you successfully submitted, the page reloads and you’ll see a message at the top: “Congratulations! You have successfully entered the contest.” If you didn’t successfully submit, it will have an error message at the top explaining why it did not submit — either the file size was too large, or it was the wrong format of file.
