Important Update!

As part of an upcoming General Data Protection Regulation that was recently passed by the European Union, we have added a way for our players to easily delete their Webkinz accounts. This was added to ensure the privacy of our players and to continue our commitment to provide a safe and secure place to play online. Note that once an account has been deleted, it will be permanent deleted and players will not have the option to recover any items, pets or currency associated to their account.

To delete your Webkinz account please complete the following steps:

  1. Log into your Webkinz account at Webkinz.com or from the Webkinz mobile app.
  2. Access the Options menu in the top right of the interface, or from the THINGS TO DO menu on the mobile app
  3. Click on the Delete Account option.
  4. You will be prompted to re-enter your password to confirm your decision
  5. You will be given one last chance to cancel or confirm your decision
  6. Once confirmed, you will be logged out and your account will be deleted.

Again, this decision is permanent and cannot be reversed once completed.

Thanks.

If players delete their account and they were “friends” with me, will their name disappear from my friends list?

and a “I confirm to delete my child’s account while deleting all in the account including the pets, e-store points, items, all the exclusives, etc. I also agree to delete all the money I used to buy all of these items, and all of my child’s friends on their Kinz Phone, and etc.” thing. Ganz should add more to that, though. And after they click it, there should be “Are you sure?” button and a “WARNING!!!! BE SURE TO READ ALL OF THE RULES BEFORE DOING THIS!!! WARNING!!!!” And a “I accept all of these rules,” and then a ‘Delete account’ button then an “Are you sure?” button, then a “Delete”, and then, “Account deleted. NOTE, YOU HAVE 10 MORE YEARS TO GET YOUR ACCOUNT BACK. E-MAIL _____ TO GET IT BACK”

Hi Sally Webkinz and Miss Cowaline (I’m sorry if I mispelled your name.) With my credit card accounts, if I forget my password, I have to answer 3 questions to reset it. For example, “What is your mother’s middle name?” “Who is your favorite author?” (Of course my original answer these questions may/may not be accurate. I list the questions answers for each account in my password notebook.) My suggestion is to do exactly that before an account can be deleted. I don’t think adding these questions to the deleting process would be difficult, and it would ease a lot of members minds. Thank you for reading my reply. I really hope GANZ will consider this.

Ahem, I should have said “if I want to reset my password” not “forget”. Of course, my passwords are recorded in my handy-dandy little account keeper notebook. I actually have 2 of these little record books. One is easily accessible. I keep the other in a fire and water proof lock box.

    I am just wondering, why?

A lot of other websites give you a few days after you’ve deleted your account to reverse what you did. Maybe Webkinz should be doing that just in case? It might not have been the players own choice to delete their account. Or like someone else said you could have security questions as well as the password.

I think that instead of typing in the password for the account, it should ask the player the information they typed in to create the account, like when is your birthday or security questions, and then after that it should send an email to the email associated with a parent’s account because if someone figured out someones password this could be an easy way to delete that person’s account.

Yikes, I’ve never considered deleting my account, but I’m sure some players must have a good reason. :) Thank you for caring about all of your players and members of the Webkinz community, even as they’re moving on. Some members will come and go, but our family will stay strong!

It should ask for the parent’s password for the parent’s account so that a younger person couldn’t accidentally delete all their stuff!
