I’m planning several outdoor rooms with the Freaky Forest theme, most of which will have nothing to do with Halloween! It’s ok, I’m not a big fan of it, I don’t really like some parts of it but it’s ok. But this don’t change all fun things who are coming with Halloween, it is still fun, right? There are a lot of new fun evens that makes Halloween so great.
I love Halloween too! It’s my favorite time of year. I love October and I love fall. The weather is so nice and cool in the fall. I love seeing everyone’s costumes on Halloween. I can’t wait for it! :D

Awww, LOL Oats♥! First I am a girl :P 2nd, as soon as I saw you on here I had to say hi to you! C; 3rd, I don’t think Oats was being angry at all, just frustrated (we ALL have those days!!) So Sorry Sweet Oats, I haven’t been feeling very well lately, so I haven’t been on as much (if at all :/) I love the holidays around this time of year (well, I love holidays in general, my name was chosen after I adopted a Love Frog on Valentine’s Day) C; …but I’m usually in a lot of pain because of all the storms and fronts that come through (frustrating because I love thunderstorms and the colors of all the changing leaves, the football games, and winter…! Well, I love it all, and spring and summer too!) C; I hope the Halloween theme ends up being more fun than you think, at least parts of it you might like, the same way I ended up liking the Sweet16 more than I thought I would… (Although I did expect the “creepy log” from the concept drawing to be a little more colorful and I thought it had some cute violet flowers with green vines or grass.. I don’t think any of us expect it to look like a room of rainbows but I would prefer a mix of a few more colors.. Sorry this is so long yet again, I ended up adding more (& more) when I saw what _emiemiemiemi_ wrote below and I have to agree, so far the finished product isn’t quite what I hoped it would be… Hopefully we’ll all be pleasantly surprised! ♥

Yep, I was doing family visiting ‘n stuff. I did reply to a lot of your comments, though, I’m gonna write the one in the Kinzapedia after this. And yeah, I guess she was…. Darn it, why am I so gullible?! Er…. Sometimes?! Also, I’m not sure I like how the Freaky Forest theme is turning out. It doesn’t look as good as the concept art, in my opinion. Like how the tree looks angry now, but before it looked like it was moaning or something. It doesn’t look as good to me. And they took out the eerie looking red glowing dot thing-a-ma-jigs in the tree trunk bench and the tree, and I liked those…. And I don’t see how I’m gonna be able to put the bridge with the river. I guess I can’t. In the concept art, it looked like it was gonna gave a river tile sort of thing under it that was compatible with the river tiles, but…. Yeah. Oh, well.
Oh, cool! I hope you had a good time. And it’s okay, I fell for it too until Oats said she was joking :P And yeah, while I do like the concept art better I feel like the final designs are more Webkinz-y, so they’re both pretty good in their own merits (at least, that’s what I think). I think the tree looked more alive in the concept art, because the branches and roots stretched out like they were warding off trespassers/trying to grab trespassers, or something, but I guess it’d be hard to transfer that effect into the site without it taking up too much space, so I’m okay with the changes. But hey, different strokes for different folks!
Personally, I agree Fracktail. I do actually like the concept art better, but only on certain things. I like the purple accents, and I think the bridge is perfect and the tree suits the style of Webkinz. So I’m with your stroke, I guess. But I do respect opinions! And Pokekinz, you’re not so gullible. I mean I didn’t even get it. ;P
Yeah same, Pokekinz, same. I was hoping for better. From the looks of the concept art it was awesome now, it’s just all right. Like, I’ll still buy it, but disappointing. (P.S. I’m super gullible and it is kinda hard to tell over the internet sometimes..)

oats34WK, don’t be so angry! It’s not possible for everyone to like everything all the time. I’m not crazy for Halloween but when I was younger it was my favorite holiday tied with Christmas. This theme is cute and there have been many room themes for Halloween. I already have three indoor rooms and am looking forward to adding an out-door room. It’s just one example of a way to enjoy Halloween. I’m also looking forward to the little trick or treaters coming to my door on Halloween. Hope you can try to enjoy the holiday.

I personally like the theme, but I can get why you don’t Oats. I can definitely can relate, when Ganz released the Sweet 16 theme I was wondering why they couldn’t have came out with something else :/ I know alot of people liked that theme though. Also, I love the Christmas theme! Preferably, The SantaKinz Theme XD I have the whole set now! Ganz, I’m having a problem entering the freaky fan art contest in the share centre. I can’t submit an image to this gallery, as well as the other two newest galleries. This is because there is no blue submit image button, and on the list titled select gallery when you click the button to submit an image, you can only submit from the first gallery, down to share your score. three galleries don’t appear. oats34WK, i know, right? A lot of people just center Halloween around freaky and ugly stuff (even though i like most of the freaky forest room theme.) I love pumpkins and Candy corn and I wish the trick or treat theme had won, too. But webkinz has worked so hard that i’m going to be thankful for the freaky forest theme anyways!

I think it’s that some people focus on what it used to be instead of what it is now, just a regular dress up party for kids who get candy. That’s the only thing it means to the modern world. It’s for fun, nothing more these days.

Hi Oats34wk and everyone, I hear ya. But while I too am not so in to the scary & creepy part of Halloween I am sure there are many who like the winning theme and are very happy. Maybe Ganz will do a light hearted Fall theme this year! Wouldn’t it be cool to have a room theme of warm colors, with pumpkins, grapes, corn, cider, apples harvest type theme. With a long dining table and serving table, cozy couches, stacked stone fireplace and book cases and butcher block kitchen, with a stove that bakes cookies, pies, rolls etc. Window treatments and table runners and couch pillows with warm colors and a leaf and vine pattern or something. Out side items could be a corn maze, hayride or barn with swing into hay bales, cider dunking, apple picking. LOL had to share, thanks, chrissysranch

I respect your opinion but, I absolutely LOVE the Halloween them this year. Out of all the celebrations Webkinz does, Halloween is the best. Christmas is just Christmas and its kinda boring. While Halloween items are all cool, unique, and awesome looking! Treat or Treat theme was okay, but Freaky Forest just looked way better. I don’t see why a room theme people voted for is driving you nuts lol. if you don’t like it, just ignore it. Nothing you can do to change their minds lol.

Oh my gosh. Snowleopards4ever…I mean I give thumbs up to that comment. I agree 100%. Christmas is like one of the most important days of the year! Besides Easter, it really is. And as for the Halloween Theme, like FennecFox said, Ganz worked hard to make it nice and we should be thankful! So I agree that Christmas is better, especially because Halloween is actually supposed to be All Hallows’ Eve, but we can still have fun with all that Ganz is providing us. :)
I agree. Halloween is awesome; it’s my favorite time of the year (along with the fact that hot weather is nearly OVER, YAY!) Halloween is definitely way better than Christmas, and with way better mythology; and this year’s theme is terrific! But speaking of Christmas, it’d be really super-awesome if we could actually get a cool new candy theme this year, instead of them always being voted down “Because we have one”…we don’t really, not compared to the fantastic attempts at new ones. I have several accounts where I desperately need tons of candy-themed items to go with candy pets and candy forests. (And also speaking of the upcoming holiday season, I’d like to beg one more time that we ALL be given our holiday gift boxes from LAST DECEMBER before it’s time to visit Santakinz and pick this year’s….can we please, please have that? I picked my gifts so carefully, and was so excited, especially about the tricycles, only to log in repeatedly on the 25th and never get them at all on most of my accounts.)

I’m a Christian too, but I don’t really like Halloween – I just go trick or treating and carve pumpkins but I draw the line at the creepy celebrate-the-risen-dead kinda stuff.

I agree; I’m also Christian and although candy is always fun, the spirits and not-quite-dead stuff is pretty seedy if you ask me. Although I think this forest theme is pretty cool since the concept of a spooky forest is pretty universal, and doesn’t really involve spirits so much as a scary setting in the woods. But I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way!
I’m a Christian, and for those who don’t know, Halloween is revolved around mythology when in the old times people thought spirits and witches would come with curses, so they dressed up to disguise themselves so they would be safe from the evil. HOWEVER, it’s actually called All Hallows’ Eve, the eve before All Saints’ Day. The point is, however, that there can be some creepy stuff in Halloween and you can still appreciate it, even if it isn’t what All Hallows’ Eve is. I don’t do Halloween, but it’s not bad if you do. :D

I’m a Christian, and we Trick-Or-Treat every year! When I was younger, at school, we had Halloween parties! And we wore our costumes to school! But now I’m in middle school, and they don’t give us parties anymore. (by the way, I go to a private Lutheran preschool-8th grade school) We don’t have ANY parties! Well, at least we have field day. Every year I dress up and Trick-Or-Treat with my brother. Then we have a candy trade! Then we watch whatever the Charlie Brown Holloween Special is called! Then we give our parents the candy that we hate but they love and eat as much candy as we can until the see us and confiscate it. Then we don’t sleep for like 3 weeks due to major sugar rushes!!! Okay, I’m kidding about the last part. Oh crap, this is going to be super long. And a fail. Sorry, I tried.

I’m also a Christian, but Halloween, just so you guys know, is an Irish holiday that is dedicated to remembering the dead and departed believers (Christians). It is really a holiday about remembering Christians that have died. It’s not really supposed to be scary or devilish. It just changed and people thought it was that way. Also, Jack-o-lanterns looked scary because they were supposed to frighten away any scary ‘spirits’. Just so you guys know! I used to go trick-or-treating with my sister-in-law, but now I’m too old. (Sad, it was so much fun! The neighborhood always had pizza and fresh donuts on Halloween.) =]

Yes, in earlier times All Hallows Eve was thought to be the night when the veil that separates the living world from the spirit world was the thinnest, so they carved scary looking jack ‘o lanterns to help keep their homes safe. Dressing up & Trick or Treating is a much more recent custom that started in America in the 20th Century. It was encouraged because kids used to play too many shenanigans & Tricks on the neighborhood on Halloween night. Thus the tradition of handing out Treats was invented, in hopes of avoiding the Tricks! My family was & is Protestant & we’ve always enjoyed Trick or Treating, costumes, treats & parties on Halloween. And now, all the fun events in Webkinz World!
Autumn is my favorite time of year too, for all the same reasons. I’m a costume designer in the real world, & it’s always fun to see what all the kids come up with for their Halloween costumes! And of course, CHOCOLATE. ;o)

That is a question that’s virtually impossible to answer, bullseyejingles444, as I’ve seen many, many creative costumes thru the years. But one of my favorites that was really creative was a sea serpent. It took 4 people to wear & operate the costume!

I’m not sure :/ The ghostly giveaway sounded like you’d find the ghost through advertisements. I sure hope we still have the ghost collection in the clubhouse, but if not, at least we’ve still got that! (: I like the trick-or-treat theme too, but I love the Freaky Forest theme as well! I wish that both of them could have won… They were both so different! Because I’d love it if there was the creepier element, but also the nice trick-or-treat element. Regardless.
