URGENT: Keep Playing With the Desktop App!

 

Due to an issue beyond our control, as of January 1, 2021, Webkinz Classic will no longer work on browsers. The Flash plug-in, which is required for our site to run will not be supported by browsers after December 31, 2020.

 

The good news is that Webkinz Classic has a downloadable Desktop App that functions exactly the same way as our original site, but it doesn’t require a browser in order to play!

 

To make sure your play is uninterrupted, it’s important to download the Desktop App as soon as possible.

 

Ask your parents for help downloading the Desktop App and installing it on your computer.

 

Downloading the app is simple. Just visit the Webkinz homepage, and click one of the download buttons. There is a version for Windows and a version for Mac.

 

 

When the download has completed click on the wxsetup.exe in Windows or wxsetup.dmg on Mac in your Downloads folder and follow the prompts.

 

Once it is installed, you’re all set! You can continue to enjoy the same game you know and love!

 

And remember – you must install the Webkinz Classic Desktop App before January 2021 in order to enjoy uninterrupted play.

    My pet is in the clubhouse and my computer locked up. Can’t shut it off or reboot. Any ideas what I can do? It’s a pc and my mouse won’t even move.

      If your computer is completely unresponsive, you may need to manually power it off. If the keyboard works, you may be able to bring up the Task Manager by hitting CTRL-ALT-DEL on your computer. You can then force quit the Webkinz application

        Thanks, Sally. CTRL-ALT-DEL didn’t work, but after an hour or so, it eventually started responding again. I even logged in on my iPad, thinking that would kick me off!

    I’m not having any luck trying to reinstall it. It starts out promising, then it just closes without having gotten very far. I don’t know what to do at this point.

    When there was a problem with the app a few days ago, I uninstalled Webkinz and tried to reinstall it. Every time I try to install it now, the ” setting up” goes to about 25% of the bar and never finishes. I’ve reset my laptop so many times and spent all day yesterday trying to figure it out, but nothing worked. Factory Reset on my laptop isn’t an option unfortunately.

    Webkinz was refusing to load when I would click the desktop short cut or tried to open it by clicking the play button on the website. It would open the loading screen for a few seconds then crash. So I did what I have done before to solve this problem, which is I deleted it and went to reinstall it. This is where my problem is arising, I click the button to get the installer for Windows(I have a PC, and yes I have tried getting the Mac installer as well but the problem still accurse) and I get it but then when I try to open the installer it refuses to open saying that there was an error while getting the installer or it will open for a seconds and then close, allowing me to open it but never lettings me start the download, and it will let me click it a few times before giving me the message that the installer has been removed. Does anyone know what to do?

      Try restarting your computer and/or Laptop, you can also try, exiting the game, then entering the game, if that doesn’t work, try disconnecting and reconnecting from your internet, otherwise, contact webkinzsupport@ganz.com they may be able to help you with this issue

    wow that was scary. thanks so much Sally. I got hacked years ago and bandits made off with my Signature Calico’s psi and my Ruby snake psi. I’m glad it was just an update issue

    Well I wrote a message here around 5am this morning…it’s gone, and no reply was given..so I’ll ask again..it’s can’t log in because I keep getting a message that says unauthorized user tried to access webkinz…etc. and I have been using the webkinz classic app without any problems before this..so I Uninstaller and reinstalled..same issue! So I tried the NEW webkinz app…no problem..no problem with m I bile app either…can you PLEASE tell me what’s going on?? I’ve literally spent thousands on this game, and I’d like to be able to play.!! I’m disabled and this is my only outlet…Im very upset right now. I need to know what to do.

      Please see the main page of Webkinz Newz. Your issue was addressed there. If your Desktop App doesn’t automatically update, you’ll need to download a fresh copy from webkinz.com and install it

        I saw that after I wrote you, sorry, and thanks for replying. I also still get a message everytime I log in from my Norton Antivirus saying it’s denying webkinz access to my camera. Not sure if you remember this but I told you about it last year that webkinz app was asking for camera access, you confirmed that the app isn’t supposed to do that so I set my Norton to stop it. I also wrote to support like you told me to last year, never got a reply. Plus still waiting for estore to send me a code for a half price deluxe I paid for over a year ago, I got a ticket number and a response to which I answered and they never sent it… Do you think you coukd ask them to look into it please?? I’ve been patient, but it’s been over a year now, and I had to purchase another deluxe because mine had run out… I hope this can finally get resolved.. thank you.

    Its nice and all but what if your computer is broken and you only have the app? It doesn’t do the same things and I miss out on it so much and I am tired of having to give my cousin my information. I should have my own privacy, what can I do since I have no computer/ laptop and the mobile app don’t do much for me?

      Umm… Webkinz can’t do anything about that, but maybe you should try buying a new Laptop, and/or ask your cousin if you can use they’re Laptop

    Ok guys I know your busy and thank you for keeping it running for us. My question is I have the app on my desk top I having been using it all this time every day even early today not I tried to get in and it said updating with the green line across but only goes half way the kicks me out. I am confused because usually it just said update come back later. What is happening?
