Enabling Flash on Your Browser

flash

Adobe Flash Player is a plug-in that is required to run Webkinz and access the GanzWorld Share Center on a desktop computer or laptop. With recent updates to some browsers, Flash does not automatically load so your browser may give you a prompt to click-to-play when you log in to webkinz.com, or you may get stuck looking at a screen that looks like this:

Here are some steps to help you enable Flash on your browser.

 flash

  1. First of all, make sure you have the most recent version of Flash downloaded and installed on your computer.flash
  2. In Google Chrome, type chrome://settings/content in the url window and select ‘Allow sites to run Flash.’ You can also select which sites you would like to allow to run Flash by clicking ‘Manage Exceptions’ and adding https://www.webkinz.com/ and https://share.ganzworld.com/ to the list.flash
  3. In the Firefox menu, go to ‘Addons’ then ‘Plug-ins’ where you will have the options to ‘Always allow’ or ‘Ask to activate’ in the drop down menu.flash
  4. In Internet Explorer, select ‘Settings’ in the top right menu, go to ‘Manage Addons’, then ‘Tools’, then ‘Extensions’. Click to enable Shockwave Flash.

Thank you. It has solved a few problems. I still have issues with the Magic Mire freezing up and Spree giving me the ‘please wait’ after I’ve finished the game. I have been playing a lot on Mobile because catching the cars there is so much easier. I haven’t had the magic W zip by while I was watching the video for clicking on a car there. They are coming, consistently, every 5 minutes, so getting my 8 only takes about half an hour.

Magic Mire has been freezing for years, it is very annoying. If it stopped handing out gems when you have the full collection and just awarded money that would help greatly. The clubhouse often crashes me out or freezes up. I am currently using the mobile app and that is too big for my phone screen today, happens occasionally, and it is hard to click the top buttons to use it. Most times it is the right size.

the flash is not working for either one of our accounts, and we followed all the instructions, not happy but starting to get tired of getting logged off improperly

Thank-you. Problem is flash keeps crashing.

Thanks for the info. I was able to access shopping at the Curio Shop today. However, the site still crash at the end of every game of Goober’s Atomic Adventure.

Thank you for posting this. It has been crashing for about the last 4-5 weeks. I notified Webkinz through the customer help link, but was told to update my flash, clear history, clear cache, try another browser, all of which i had already done. The site also tells me that I have a plug-in failure after playing Spree. Does anyone else having these issues? Thank you

      • 975689 says:

Yes. I get a plug-in failure after many of the games, including Spree and Goober’s Atomic Adventure. I also can’t take advantage of my Deluxe extra class at the Kinsville Academy. Instead, I get a plug-in failure. Sadness…

I forgot to mention that I am on Mac and use Safari. I noticed there was no info in this update about Safari. I really don’t want to use Chrome on my computer.

          • 1Emerald1 says:

I won’t use Chrome, it has too many issues. I’m using mostly Firefox tho I sometimes switch to Safari. On a mac. The site continues to be inconsistent with a lot of random crashes.

I have always used Safari, plug ins are enabled for all Ganz sites yet I keep getting the plug in failure screen in the arcade also! I am up to date and it is quite frustrating this keeps happening. It only started for me about two updates ago on WW.

I completely agree with you I don’t want to get chrome, it never seems to work on my Mac and I do have Safari also

          • ImaPepper says:

Yeah, I run Safari, too. Unfortunately, Safari isn’t supporting Adobe Flash anymore. You can still run it, but it’s quirky.

i’m on a mac and use Safari also and I’m Deluxe and have the same problem at the Kinsville Academy as well as a few other places too. I would also really appreciate a Safari info update.

I i also am on Mac and use Safari. I stay on webkinz until I get knocked out with plug in failure 6 to 7 times. It shows up when I play games, go to class (never lets me play the extra deluxe class), always gives me plug in failure and I get and X after logging in again, which I never get to play deluxe anything. I am a deluxe player but am considering giving that up since I can’t use any deluxe features.

As you notice my comment on reply is messed up. that is because I can’t even see what I am typing because I can’t even get the whole screen.

I also am deluxe with a mac and use Safari. I can use Firefox but am not going to install Chrome. I couple of things that may help. You now have to specifically enable Flash. To do this go to “Safari” on the top bar and choose “Preferences”. Then click on the “Security” icon. At the very bottom you will see “Allow internet plug-ins”/ Make sure it is checked and click on the “Plug-in Settings” box. In the section on the left click on “Adobe Flash Player”. I think you get a choice to allow it for all or selectively and it may help to have the webkinz sign in screen up before doing this if you only want to allow it for webkinz (I forget how I did that). Also I believe every time you update Safari or mac iOS you will have to do this. As for the plug in failure for Spree (which is happening a lot now and has been an on/off issue for quite a while) I just tried exiting the game by going to the things to do button instead of exiting the game “properly”. Finally when I do get the plug in failure message I have found that I need to close Safari completely in order to sign back in. Hopefully our tech crew is working to get use off Flash (which allows us to do more on our mobiles also) but it will take time. I hope you find these hints helpful!

shananski, I also notified customer support a month or so ago & got the same form letter response. Hopefully they will get a fix together soon.
