When an item is retired, that means it is no longer available unless you can find another player willing to trade it.
Some of the oldest retired items were originally supposed to be “toys” but looked more like clothing, like the Baseball Hat, Figure Skates, Hockey Skates and the Toy Tool Belt. These items could be placed in a room, but weren’t at all interactive. Once pet clothing was added to the world, these “toys” were retired to prevent any confusion.
One of the first clothing items to be retired were the WZ Jeans, which were given out for a special promotion back in 2006.
Now they have earned the distinction of being part of the ultimate Webkinz collector items!
I would love to own either skates! I had to pairs of WZ jeans but I was scammed a pair. I’ve heard about the skates but never actually seen them. Anyone have either skates for trade?

it would be a friendly gesture is ganz brought back some of these items from time to time so every one could have a chance to get them – back in 2006, some of those who play now weren’t even born – others of us didn’t find out about webkinz until a year or so later – why not use the reintroduction of some of these items to stimulate interest in your current players, perhaps creating a more long-term loyalty? it would benefit ganz and it would make the players happy also!
I really highly doubt that ganz would bring back those items. If they brought them back, then nobody would have any fun trading for them.

I have often wondered about all of those accounts that people don’t use anymore, and what awesome items they might have had. Maybe Ganz could find a way to find those accounts, and then raffle them off, like they do at storage places when people don’t pay for a long time, or just leave stuff behind. I bet a lot of awesome items would suddenly become available again, but without actually being remade or just given away.
That would be awesome! There probably are accounts that people don’t use that have a lot of great stuff. Sadly, GANZ probably won’t do that just encase those players DO get on in the future. Then there account would be gone.
I hope Ganz will think of letting us get this retired items sometime. I don’t think I have any of those items. I have been playing Webkinz for over 6 years. Maybe they might let us try to win them with a special challenge or game.

I like to look at all the collector items. It makes it easier to create a wishlist! A new goal. I’m glad these things are retired, though. A lot of people are saying these items should be brought back and I completely disagree. The value keeps the game going. Simple as that. It’s fun to make goals, achieve them, and make another goal. My new goal is some skates (:
