Roberta’s costume

Hey, gang – it’s me, Roberta!!! I just wanted to thank all of you so much for helping me choose my Halloween costume and voting in the poll last weekend! I counted up all of the votes and guess which costume you chose for me?           I’m a Mermaid! Cool, huh? I had so much fun at the Halloween Parade today. I guess I have all of you to thank for that too! You all did such a good job on that petition for Ms. Cowoline. I can’t wait to go out trick or treating with my friends tonight. I just hope it’s not too cold outside – this Mermaid costume is kind of chilly. Maybe I should bring my jacket. Thanks again! I hope you all have fun tonight!

Halloween Parade!

halloweenparade

Halloween Parade! By Ella McWoof                   I stopped by Kinzville Academy today to check out the annual Halloween Parade through the school. I remember back when I was at the old Academy, I just loved Halloween. We would start with the youngest classes and then make our way through the school, going into each class and collecting the students to add to our parade. By the time we got back to the front hall, the whole school was part of the parade. It was awesome seeing some of the younger kids dressed up in their costumes – they’d get so excited. So I was really looking forward to checking out some of the costumes this year and they did not disappoint! Ms. Cowoline even let them decorate the school. They did such a good job it’s scary! Cowabelle looks regal in this chic Pharoah costume.               And Sparky could be the ‘After’ picture to Cowabelle  – he’s all wrapped up in being a  Mummy.           Ewww! Stoogles is a creepy Zombie! That green, rotting face paint is freaking me out!     … Read more

Hot Dog Mummies

What you need: hot dogs, crescent roll dough, adult assistant, stove, cookie sheet, ketchup   What you do: 1.       Take the crescent roll dough out of the package – try to keep the dough in a rectangle (don’t separate into triangles). 2.       Using a knife (or having your adult assistant do this step), cut the dough into strips about 2 cm wide. 3.       Wrap your hot dogs with the dough. Overlap the dough and make it look like bandages. 4.       Put the hot dogs onto a cookie sheet and bake in the oven at 350 degrees until the dough is golden (about 15 minutes). Serve these ‘mummies’ with ketchup!
