Roberta’s Ice Cream Sandwiches
Roberta here with a tasty summer recipe: ice cream sandwiches! I just LOVE ice cream sandwiches. They combine two of my favorite things: ice cream and cookies! Here’s what you do! What you need: Store bought or homemade plain chocolate sugar cookies, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sprinkles (optional) What you do: Let the ice cream sit on the counter for about 10 minutes to soften up a little bit. Place chocolate cookies on a cookie sheet. Put a scoop of ice cream on top of each cookie. Top each scoop of ice cream with another cookie. If you like, roll the sides of the ice cream sandwiches in chocolate sprinkles Put them in the freezer to firm up Serve and enjoy!
Summer Craft: Ice Cream Necklace
Roberta Rabbit here with an awesome summer craft! I’m going to show you how to make an ice cream cone necklace – it’s cute and fun! What you need: Brown cardstock paper, craft glue, gold sparkles, round beads in pastel colors, small round red bead (optional), flat head pins, needle-nose pliers, string, extra beads (optional) What you do: Cut out a 1.5 inch circle from the brown cardstock. Make a slice halfway to the middle point, like this: 2. Starting at the cut, wrap the circle around to make a cone. Glue it as you do this. 3. Trim the top of the cone. Make a swirl of glue around the cone and dip the cone in gold sparkles, if you like. 4. Stick your flat-head pin through the base of the cone (the flat part should be at the tip of the cone). Stick one or two beads on top of it. 5.Use the needle-nose pliers to make a loop at the top of the flat-head pin (you can get a grown up to help with this). 6.Put the ice cream cone on a piece of string and add extra beads, if you like. 7.Tie the two … Read more
Auditions Day 2: A Surprising Voice
Hi everyone! It’s me, Cowabelle. I am pretty pumped because my audition at Kinzville Sings went really well yesterday, but today I went over to catch day 2 of the auditions and it seems like I might have some surprising competition. The auditions were going pretty well. There were some good singers and some not so good, but then Ms. Birdy’s name was called. Roberta came with me and when we heard that Ms. Birdy was auditioning we were pretty shocked. She’s not exactly your typical rock star, you know? So she comes out on stage and she kind of stumbles a bit and seems pretty nervous. The judges were being super nice to her because, really, she’s just a sweet lady and nobody was expecting too much. We all just wanted her to get through it without embarrassing herself. But then the music started and Ms. Birdy started singing and everyone just gasped! Her voice was angelic! The judges’ jaws all dropped – nobody was expecting that voice to come out of Ms. Birdy! We all just stared in amazement and when she was done Ms. Birdy got a huge standing … Read more

Something Old, Something New…
Hey Everyone! Nibbles here. Can you believe Plumpy’s wedding is coming up in only 15 days? I can’t wait to be a bridesmaid! Anyway, I was talking to Plumpy today and she realized: she needs something old and something new, something borrowed and something blue. It’s a tradition in our family! So we went through the list. First, the old: she’s going to wear my grandma’s dress, so that definitely counts. Next, something new: she has brand new earrings – whew! Something borrowed: I told Plumpy she could borrow my lucky rock. She said she’d tuck it under the sash on the dress. Finally, something blue: This one took us a minute, but then Plumpy realized: she’s the blue! So it looks like everything is all ready! I can’t wait for the big day!
First Day of Auditions
Roberta here with some good news and some bad news. So today was the first day of the auditions for Kinzville Sings. A couple of our friends were auditioning so we all went out to the auditions to watch and give them our support. Cowabelle was one of the first to get called up. I was kind of worried about her because she wants this so badly I thought she might get nervous and mess up. But Cowabelle loves performing and I guess she doesn’t let the butterflies get to her because she got up on that stage and hit a home run. She looked confident and she didn’t hit a single wrong note. I was so proud of her. But then there’s the bad news. Because not too long after Cowabelle performed, Molly was called up on stage. Molly is an okay singer too but she hasn’t done as much performing as Cowabelle and I don’t know if she just got really nervous up there in front of everybody but, well, let’s just say it was not good. She kept forgetting the lyrics and when she did remember she never … Read more
Blue Springtime Chick Contest Winners
Congratulations to Lydia, Alina, Sophey, Amber and Laura! They’ve each been sent a Secret Code for a Blue Springtime Chick. We wanted to know how the Blue Springtime Chick became blue! Read the winning entries below: The Blue Springtime Chick became blue because….. It was a foggy night at the Kettle Fields Farm and a large mother chicken had laid an egg. The egg was a medium sized egg. The farmer thought the egg looked like a store bought egg so he sent it to the local grocery store. A few hours later… Little boy Jimmy was looking for eggs to decorate for Easter. He came across a dozen of eggs. He thought that was how much he needed so he bought the carton. Little did he know, on Easter he was going to be in for a surprise. On Easter morning an egg that was painted blue was cracked open. He looked in his Easter basket and the blue chick was inside. His dad and the animal rescue center told the farmer to look more carefully around the chicken coop. And Jimmy got to keep his chick and they all lived happily ever after. – Lydia Once upon a … Read more
Plumpy’s Wedding: Cake Design
Hey everyone! Can you believe my wedding is only 16 days away! It’s true! And since my dear friend Chef Sophia is in charge of the cake, it was high time for Charles and I to visit her and see about flavors and designs! Fortunately for us, Chef Sophia had brought along a ton of samples. We tried a little bit of everything, but out absolute favorite was chocolate cake with Stubbly Grass Nibble ganache and a delicate maple buttercream. It sounds a bit wacky, but the flavors work together perfectly! After picking the flavor, we had to choose a design. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never really thought about what a cake LOOKS like before. I’m all about the taste! But Sophia sketched out a bunch of pictures and said I could take them home and think about them. So I’ve narrowed my options down to these four. I’d love your opinion! Let me know which one you like the best!
Counting Down the Days
Hey, it’s Sparky and I cannot believe it’s FINALLY June! Only a few more weeks to summer vacation! I cannot wait to kick back and hang out with my friends this summer! We are going to go swimming and hiking and hang out in the Arcade. Plus, everyone knows that the last month of school is a breeze anyway so it’s practically like I’m already on vacation! I’m sure we’ll all spend so much time planning for our big end of year trip that we’ll hardly have any school work at all. Yeah, life sure is sweet right now. I love summer vacation!
