Yes! We had similar ideas, like the bookcases, staircase slides, and fireplace. I didn’t even realize the staircases were slides until you mentioned it, lol

Hi designergirl! In the spirit of Halloween, I’m trying to design a room with a haunted mansion feel to it – you know, like those dark, old-fashioned houses that you see in movies? I think I’m using the flooring from the Halloween theme, but I thought the wallpaper was too bright and blended in with the staircases, so I’ll need a darker wallpaper. Also, I want to use the Ms. Cowaline Reading Chair because it’s got the old-fashioned look that I love :) So, could you give me some suggestions and design a haunted mansion for me? This room is large and has no budget, which means you should go all out! Thanks!

Haha, welcome back, pikapooka! Both of these rooms are pretty high-budget, so you can put them together bit by bit, but I hope you love them in the end! First, Almond’s room: New Jungle Wallpaper, Café Flooring, Bedrock Bed, Deep Jungle Television, Relaxing Rock Sofa, Cave Hole Window, Jungle Trophy Pedestal, Amaryllis, Creamy Vanilla Side Table, 4 Zen Master Zabutons, Mini Biosphere, and a Nature’s Hug Leaf Rug for every door in the room. Everything will cost around 6820 KC. The New Jungle Wallpaper is perfect for someone who loves the great outdoors, and the flooring is almond-colored, which I thought was cute :) Place the Bedrock Bed in the left corner of the room against the solid wall. The TV goes against the same wall in the top corner of the room. One space away, place the Relaxing Rock Sofa facing the TV. On the wall space between the TV and the sofa (the right solid wall), place the Cave Hole Window. Next, in the right corner of the room, place the Jungle Trophy Pedestal with the Amaryllis on top. Beside the pedestal, place the Buried Bone Fridge against the right solid wall. Since Almond has a refrigerator in his room, I figured he would need an eating area, so in the bottom corner, place the Creamy Vanilla Side Table (you can turn it so that the drawer isn’t showing) with 4 Zen Master Zabutons around it. (The bamboo details on the zabutons reminded me of nature!) On the side table, place the Mini Biosphere. Finally, in front of every door, place a Nature’s Hug Leaf Rug. Now on to the backyard jungle! This room’s going to cost a lot more, but I think it’s worth it! Shopping List: Crosscut Tree Table, 4 Tree Stump Chairs, Calming Campfire Stove (it’s from the CampKinz Cookout Challenge, but if you don’t have it you can also buy the CampKinz Marshmallow Pit for an extra 550 KC), and 3 Striped Beach Loungers. I also think the Crystal Falls Kit (400 KC) would look amazing, but it’ll take some effort to build it! As a substitute you could use the Pig Paradise Lake (from the Camp Counselor challenge) or the Inground Lap Pool (for an extra 1400 KC). Also, scatter Palm Trees and Geranium Bushes around the yard to give it a tropical jungle look. I recommend around 10 Palm Trees and 6 Geranium Bushes, but the numbers are up to you. You can also create a winding trail through the center of the yard, using CampKinz Curvy Trails and CampKinz Nature Trails. I recommend starting with about 6 of each. In total the cost is around 8180 KC. Place the Harmonious Hammock in the right corner of the yard with 1 or 2 Palm Trees. Diagonal from the hammock, a couple spaces away, place the Crosscut Tree Table with 4 Tree Stump Chairs around it. In the top corner, place the Crystal Falls Kit or whatever substitute you want to use. In the left corner, place the Calming Campfire Stove. Scatter the 3 Striped Beach Loungers around it (you can get more loungers if you want, but I stuck with 3 so it wouldn’t look too crowded). Now create a trail running through the center of the yard with CampKinz Curvy Trails and CampKinz Nature Trails. You can have fun playing around with different layouts! Scatter Palm Trees and Geranium Bushes around the yard for the finishing touch. I hope you and Almond like the new room and tropical jungle, and thanks again for visiting RRR!!!

Hello everyone! Celia here with another room idea and some design tips for LOW-BUDGET rooms! I challenged myself to create a room with as little KC as possible, and guess what the total was? 555 KC! I used a small room so it felt cozy and scaled just right (a bigger room would feel too empty). When decorating on a budget, it’s best to use paint instead of wallpaper to save KC. I went with the Green Wall Paint and Blue Flooring – they’re less than 100 KC together, but still give a great punch of color! A cool trick is to use a solid paint color, and then decorate it with either the Volcano Poster or the Beanstalk Art Poster. These posters are large but inexpensive, and a great way to add interest to a plain wall, almost like a makeshift wallpaper for a fraction of the cost! When choosing a money-saving bed, people tend to go for the Blue Striped Bed or Creamy Vanilla Bed because they’re the cheapest – but did you know that for just 5 KC more, you can get the Crazy Colorful Bed? It’s a fun, gender-neutral, eye-catching bed that injects color into any boring room! I placed the bed against a solid wall, right in the middle to fill up the space a little more. On the other solid wall, I hung the Beanstalk Art Poster. Then I cheated a little bit and used a Laundry Hamper in the corner of the room to balance out the red in the bed. But you can easily win the Laundry Hamper by completing the Wheel of Wow meter, or from the Daily Kinzcare, or from the Log-out Carnival, and it will cost you nothing! So the paint, flooring, bed, and poster cost me 555 KC altogether, which is pretty good for a room so bright, colorful, and fun! I hope this helps to show that just because you’re on a low budget does NOT mean you have to sacrifice design :)

Hi hollyleaf45! Here’s your shopping list: Nursery Wallpaper, Dance Studio Flooring, Golden Rose Bed, 2 Ballerina Side Tables, 2 Ballet Lamps, Funky Girl Area Rug (OR the Shaggy White Rug, but since that’s Deluxe you might not be able to get it), Studio Mirror with Stretching Bar, Nursery Record Player, Ballerina Bookcase, Wicker Chair, Ballerina Study Desk, Dainty Dining Chair, and Classroom Chalkboard. All of this will cost you 3260 KC – I hope that’s okay! Some great optional accessories you can get are: Doll House (Rosie’s going to need some toys to let out her mischievous side!), Arte and the Lost Tomb Book (since Rosie loves to read scary stories), and a Ballerina Poster – Bear. With these accessories everything will cost 3485 KC. You have enough KC to cover it, but if you don’t want to spend so much KC I can send you some furniture! Layout: First, use the Nursery Wallpaper and Dance Studio Flooring. With this flooring, Rosie can dance all she wants, right in her room! If you have an empty wall, place the Golden Rose Bed in the middle of it, with a Ballerina Side Table on either side of the bed. A Ballet Lamp goes on each side table. At the foot of the bed, place the Funky Girl Area Rug (OR the Shaggy White Rug). Now choose any corner of the room (except for the bottom one) to place the Studio Mirror with Stretching Bar and the Nursery Record Player. This makes a perfect dance corner for Rosie, and the record player even plays real music! Choose another corner to place the Ballerina Bookcase and Wicker Chair next to each other against the wall. You can also place the Arte and the Lost Tomb Book in this corner. Here Rosie can read scary stories all night long! In another corner, place the Ballerina Study Desk with the Dainty Dining Chair. Beside the desk you can place the Classroom Chalkboard, but turn the chalkboard so that the back is showing instead of the green side. On the back of the chalkboard is a cute bulletin board, which completes Rosie’s study area! If you buy the Doll House, that can go in the last corner to be Rosie’s play area. I hope you love this room, let me know what you think!

Hi pikapooka! I know, it’s such a bummer when themes go deluxe, isn’t it? :( I assumed you were talking about the City Styling Theme with all the pink furniture, but please correct me if I’m wrong and I can redo your room! Anyway, here is your shopping list: Coffee & Cream Side Table, Funky Girl Lamp, 2 White Silk Sofas, Short Mahogany Coffee Table, Orchid, Pink and White Swirl Rug, Lime Corinthian Dining Chair, Citrus Swirl Painting, Oval Contour Cabinet, Funky Girl Karaoke Machine, Funky Girl Stereo, and 2 Modern Windows. I wasn’t sure if you wanted to use the poodle PSI, so I included it, but as a substitute you can use the Funky Girl Makeup Vanity, which will cost 300 extra KC. Everything else will cost 6025 KC. I used a color palette of pink, blue, and green, which I think looks super cool! Layout: Place your bed in the top corner of the room with the headboard against the right wall. Place the Coffee & Cream Side Table right beside it, and the Funky Girl lamp on the side table. Next, in the bottom corner of the room, place the two White Silk Sofas facing each other with the Short Mahogany Coffee Table in between them. Put the pink Orchid on the coffee table. In the right corner of the room, place the Pink and White Swirl Rug. Against the solid right wall, place the vanity as far to the right as possible. In front of the vanity goes the Corinthian Dining Chair, and above the vanity, hang the Citrus Swirl Painting. To the left of the vanity place the Oval Contour Cabinet against the wall. (All of these should be on top of the Pink and White Swirl Rug!) Now, in the left corner of the room, place the Funky Girl Karaoke Machine in the corner against the solid left wall. Place the Funky Girl Stereo 2 spaces away from the transparent left wall, and 1 space away from the solid left wall. This makes a fun karaoke corner for Angel and her friends to rock out! Place one Modern Window on the solid left wall 1 space away from the edge, and the other Modern Window on the same wall, 1 space away from the other edge, so that there are 3 spaces between the windows. That’s all for now! Let me know if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, etc. I hope you and Angel enjoy your new room!

Adding that poster is a great idea! And sorry about the chair, but I’m glad you found a substitute! The paw mat would have been a great idea too, haha – don’t worry, I’ve made similar mistakes a few times :) I think we might be friends, my username is bea606 (Bea is part of my middle name in case anyone was wondering why it’s different from my name here)!

Hi alley_cat_rocks, your comment made me smile from ear to ear! Thanks for the enthusiastic response! It’s fine that you changed some things around – I think it’s great when people personalize their spaces! Anyway… adding this kitchen was A LOT more difficult than I thought it would be. Normally I don’t use single themes, I like to mix and match items from different themes. But not matter what I tried, nothing looked right! I realized that this was because the rest of the room was so busy and colorful, if I tried to mix different colors it would just be a mess. So for this kitchen, I went with the Funky Girl theme: Funky Girl Refrigerator, Funky Girl Stove, 4 Funky Girl Kitchen Counters, and 1 Funky Girl Sandwich Maker. This kitchen will cost 2580 KC. The pink balances out the pink in the bottom corner of the room, and also grounds the room so that it’s more cohesive and not just different colors everywhere. You can set everything up in the top corner of the room starting against the right wall, and when you get to the door, curve the counters out in an L shape. With this layout, the GanzWorld Couch can go in the top corner against the empty left wall, once space away from the door. I’ll give you the freedom as a designer to play around with different arrangements :) Oh, and I sent you the lamps and the couch, so let me know if you got my gift!

Wow, that’s awesome! I’ll wait and see what you think of the original room, and then you can let me know if you want to modify anything to fit your bigger budget! The one thing I would suggest right now is to use 3 Winged Thrones instead of 3 Lemon Chairs for a more elegant look, while still keeping that lovely, bright yellow color! That would bring it to around 4125 KC. If you want more in your art corner, you could also pull the table away from the wall to add in an Art Station for 400 more KC. Hope this helps!

That’s so nice of you! I would love to be an interior designer (I think that’s what home makeover people are called), since designing rooms is so much fun!!! Okay, here is the layout: In the left corner of the room, place the two Music Note Chairs right next to each other (no space in between) against the solid wall. This gives the illusion that it is one big sofa – for a lot less KC than the real Music Notes Sofa! In front of the couches, place the Music Guitar Table. Above the couch closer to the door, place the Music Note Wall Art. In the bottom corner of the room, place the pink piano with the Dainty Dining Chair so that the back of the chair is showing, and you can see the whole front of the piano in all its glory! Next, place the drum set and Toy Guitar in the top corner of the room (the drums look best against the right solid wall, with the guitar against the left wall by the door). Place the Music Note Wall Charm on the wall above the drums. In the right corner of the room, place the pink juke box against the solid wall, one space away from the corner. In this one space goes the Rock & Roll Trophy Pedestal, perfect for holding a microphone, music book, etc.! Above the juke box, place the Two Right Paws Poster, so your pets can show off some moves while listening to music! That’s about it, so if you have any questions about the layout don’t hesitate to ask! And If I ever come across another one of those red heart decorations I’ll be sure to send it to you!

Hi gh2002! For some reason your comment isn’t showing up, but I did see that you wanted help with an indoor camping room. Since you didn’t give me a budget, I decided to do two rooms – one with a high cost and one with a lower cost. The first design will cost 5700 KC, and will include a sleeping area, kitchen area, sitting area, and bathroom area. Shopping list: CampKinz Cabin Wallpaper, CampKinz Cabin Flooring, 2 CampKinz Cots, CampKinz Outdoor Kitchen Set, Pie in the Sky Stove, Country Home Square Table, 4 Cloud Chairs, Porcelain Toilet, Porcelain Sink, Green Leaf Toy Box, 2 Wooden Room Dividers, Country Home Bench Seat, 2 Nature’s Hug Leaf Rugs, and Saguaro Cactus. I brought the outdoors in by using the colors of nature, like the green of grass and the blue of sky! The second room option costs MUCH less, at 2665 KC! It has everything except the bathroom area. Shopping list: CampKinz Cabin Wallpaper, CampKinz Cabin Flooring, 2 Prairie Wood Beds, Autumn Counter, Jungle Blender, Tree Stump Side Table, 4 Dance Recital Chairs, Rattan Toy Box, Wicker Chair, Rough Hewn Rug, and Saguaro Cactus. This room uses richer colors and has more of a cabin-feel. Also, if you have the CampKinz Canoe Paddles from the CampKinz Cookout challenge, they would look great on one of the walls in both designs! It’s up to you which room design to use, depending on your budget and taste! Let me know your choice and if you want a layout, any changes, etc. :) Oh, and as always, I’m willing to send you anything to help cover the cost!

Here is the layout! Place the bed in the left corner against the solid wall, one space away from the door. There should be one space on the other side of the bed, in the corner, to put the Fantasy Trophy Pedestal as a sort of side table. Place the Plush Rug (which I will send you) at the foot of the bed, one space away from the invisible left wall. Now in the right corner of the room, place the Art Easel in the corner against the solid wall. Place the Polished Oak Table against the same wall, long side against the wall, with one space between the table and the easel. Place the 3 Lemon Chairs around the table – one chair on the left side, two on the long side. On the table, put the Rainbow Flowers. This makes a fun area for Lauren to draw, so I will also send you a Colorful Characters Coloring Book for you to put on the table! This is Lauren’s art corner. Now go to the bottom corner of the room and place the Sultan’s Settee in the corner, long side against the right invisible wall. One space to the left, place the Sky Blue Book Box with two Gemstone Lamps on either side of the bookshelf. Then, to the left of the bottom right door, place a Funky Girl Divider to give Lauren some privacy when she reads! In the top corner of the room, place the Neo Gothic Grandfather Clock in the corner, and a GanzWorld Couch right next to it against the right wall. In front of the couch, place the Funky Girl Area Rug. Now we can add in the windows! Not all the windows in a room have to be the same, so I like to mix and match them. Space the 2 Modern Windows out on the left solid wall in the top corner, where the wall is empty. Place 1 Square Swing-Open Window above the GanzWorld Couch, one above the Fantasy Trophy Pedestal, and one on the space between the Oak Table and the Art Easel. Annnd we’re done! I hope these instructions were simple enough to follow, but if they weren’t, no worries… I can invite you over to my house and show you a replica of the room if you would like. Also, let me know your username so I can send you the Plush Rug and Colorful Characters Coloring Book and anything else you need! I am bea606 :)
