Ms. Cowoline’s Announcement

Hello, children. I’ve called you here today to make an exciting announcement about a very special event that the School Council is planning. I’m pleased to announce that this November, the Kinzville Academy will be holding its first annual Fall Fair. This year’s bake sale was a great success and the council has a healthy budget with which to throw an exciting and fun-filled day. There will be rides, games and snacks to enjoy. Salley has assured me that she and her cabinet, Stoogles and Purr-cilla, have the planning well in hand and that they will be filling us in on all the details of the day in the near future. So, I hope that you will all mark the date, November 19, in your calendars and let your family and friends know that all of Kinzville will be welcome. I know that Salley can count on all of you to step up and volunteer with whatever help they may require.
School Council Minutes
In Attendance: Stoogles, Salley, Purr-Cilla Minutes taken by: Stoogles It was decided by the council that the fall fair planning would proceed, keeping the budget of 500 KinzCash in mind. Salley suggested asking Ms. Cowoline for an extra 50 KinzCash to get three rides instead of two. Purr-Cilla agreed to this. Salley also suggested making the games ourselves. We agreed to try, however Purr-Cilla said that she thinks it’s ridiculous that we’re not just asking our parents to buy them for us. She said her dad would totally get them for her. Salley and I chose to ignore these comments. Salley suggested having a competition or contest of some sort. I suggested cupcakes- who doesn’t love those? Purr-Cilla wanted to do a fashion show, but Salley voted with me. Cupcakes it is! Purr-Cilla asked me to add “Your idea is childish.” Duly noted. We’re pretty excited to tell everyone about the new fair plan – as soon as Ms. Cowoline approves it. Addendum: the fair has been approved for November 19! Ms. Cowoline gave us the extra 50 KinzCash and she’s holding an assembly to tell everyone this afternoon! Yay!

Salley’s Realization

So bad news: we MIGHT not have the budget for those fancy rides at the fall fair. Stoogles and I visited the rental place tonight. My mom came with us. As the owner showed us around and told us the prices, we were shocked. How could it cost 500 KinzCash to rent a super swing for four hours? 500 KinzCash is the whole budget! The owner said the price included setting it up, taking it down, delivery and removal – but wow! We don’t have that kind of Kinzcash. I hate to say it, but Purr-Cilla MIGHT be right about scaling back some of our ideas. We DID see a giant slide for 100 KinzCash, and some really neat bumper cars for 200 KinzCash, so I think we’ll get those. We might even have enough for a mine cart ride. It’s 250 KinzCash, but I think it would be really popular, and we can come up with the extra 50 KinzCash. There were also some great games to rent, but I know my friends and I can make them ourselves for a fraction of the cost. Just wait – this is going to be the best … Read more
The Fabulous Fall Fair!

By Cowabelle Cowoline Okay, I am so psyched! Today at recess Salley and Stoogles were telling us all about this cool Fall Fair we’re going to have at Kinzville Academy. It sounds like so much fun. Salley said that we were going to have huge rides and all these really cool games, and there will be tons of really yummy food. I cannot wait! But then, just as Salley is telling us all this, Purr-cilla comes over and is all down on everything Salley is saying. She told us not to be so sure that we were going to have all this awesome stuff because Salley and Stoogles were going way overboard and if they didn’t calm down, everyone was going to be really disappointed when the Fall Fair didn’t turn out the way we thought it would. I don’t even know what she was talking about. Um, hello? Salley is the president, not her. I think Salley would know better what we can do, don’t you? And Salley said they made a lot of money at the bake sale that they could use for the fair. Clearly Purr-cilla is still … Read more
Student Council Outing: Getting Rides

Whoa! This is Stoogles here. So Salley and Purr-cilla and I just got back from the party rental shop. Um, can I live there? I think it was the coolest place I’ve ever seen! They had so many amazing rides! When we got in there Salley and I saw so many awesome rides that we wanted to get for the fair but every time we started looking at some epic thing, Purr-cilla practically snapped at us that we had a budget and we couldn’t just get every single neat thing we saw. She marched us straight over to the clerk and told him the three things on our list. We had the budget for Bumper Cars, a Mine Cart Ride and a Giant Slide. Which, I will admit, are all pretty awesome. But still – when I saw some of the items they had on display, I couldn’t help wishing that we had just a little more money. Of course, then I had to make the mistake of saying that out loud. It wasn’t like I was serious or anything, but Purr-cilla comes over and just about screams, “When are you going … Read more

The BEST Fair

Salley Cat here. You know, ever since Purr-cilla came through with that petition idea for the Halloween Parade, she has been acting like she knows how we should do everything around here. I’m kind of regretting that I ever invited her to be on School Council in the first place. Stoogles and I have this amazing idea for the coolest fair Kinzville Academy has ever seen. It is going to be so much fun (the ‘Kinz are going to be so happy they elected me!) We have so much awesome stuff planned. And I don’t care what Purr-cilla said – we’re not being too ambitious. We raised lots of funds at our Bake Sale and if we plan this thing right I’m sure we can get all the rides and games we want. It’s a good thing that I’m president and not her. I can’t wait to start shopping for all the cool stuff for our fall fair!
School Council Minutes –November 2
Recorded by: Stoogles, Vice President Re: Ideas for Fun and Exciting Ways to Liven the School Year Called by: Salley Cat, President In attendance: Salley Cat (see above), Stoogles (see above) and Purr-cilla, Treasurer Okay, so after much discussion about what the school council should do to create some buzz around the school, we decided that the best thing to do would be to throw a fall fair. We figured that would cover all the bases – it would give everyone a chance to have some fun and go on rides, as well as offering lots of yummy food and games. Salley and I were talking about it last night on our way home from school. We are going to have a giant slide, Bumper cars, a Mine Cart ride and a Super Swing. We’re also going to try and get our hands on a roller coaster and giant Ferris wheel. We’re going to have a barbecue with burgers and sausages, a candy apple cart, a popcorn machine, a candy floss maker and a vending machine full of chocolate bars. Oh yeah – we’ll also need some games. I think we could set up a dunk tank, a paintball course, … Read more
